Brad Delong gets it right when he says both that it's too early to start dealing with the deficit and that it will be the budget action de jour in two years.

But although the actual deficit reductions will need to start being implemented in 2011, the deficit reduction debate will actually begin in earnest next year when the president submits his budget for the following year.
