I Knew, But I Didn't Really Know
I knew, but I didn't really know.
My day job as a public relations executive means that I follow communications trends, so I knew that blogs, bloggers, and blogging have enormous and virtually instantaneous power. But I never really understood the extent of that power until the past few days when several other blogs informed their readers that I had started a blog of my own. That's when the stats about hits, distinct views, number of minutes on the blog, and the myriad of other ratings-like things available to bloggers told me that the number of people taking a look had increased exponentially literally overnight.
So thank you Brad DeLong, OMB Watch, John Irons at Argmax.com, and Troy Schneider. Brad was one of the inspirations for my blogging and one of the blogs I check every day. Troy, who 11 years ago made my National Journal column "Budget Battles possible and made it much better every week it was produced, has been helping launch Capital Gains and Games. And the folks at OMB Watch have been gracious over the years by quoting "Budget Battles" in their posts.
Not only do I thank you, but my Beautiful and Talented Wife (The BTW) also is grateful.
