Don Draper And Jon Hamm: Life Imitating Art Imitating Life Imitating...

Listen to the voiceover of this new commercial for the Mercedes-Benz GLK 350:

In case you don't recognize the voice, it's Jon Hamm, the actor who plays Don Draper (that's him below) on AMC TV's  Mad Men.  For those of you who don't know, on Mad Men --- which is one of my Beautiful and Talented Wife's (The BTW) favorite programs -- Don Draper is an advertising executive on Madison Avenue in the 1960s.

That makes this commercial a real-life actor who plays a fictional ad man being the voice of a real-life ad.

What the Mad Men were up to.

The fictional Don Draper lives in my real life home town of Ossining, and would have commuted on the train with my dad.

It may be worth remembering the real life advertisements that Don & Co were putting out in the late 1950s and 1960s.

Things change a lot within one lifetime.
