Some Comedy to Ring in the New Year

Comes to us courtesy of Frances Townsend, who served as Assistant to President George W. Bush for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, in last week's Washington Post:

The Obama administration needs to take a clear, tough line with Yemen: Take care of the terrorism problem within your borders so you are no longer a threat to the United States and our allies in the region, or allow the international community to come in and clean it up for you. The time for polite diplomacy is long past.

I couldn't stop laughing when I read this in my local paper.  To what international community is she referring?  The one still bogged down in Afghanistan?  The one that hung together so well in Iraq?

some more comedy from the administration in place now...

John Brennan's interview on Fox w/Chris Wallace:

John Brennan tried in vain to defend the decision to treat Abdulmutallab like an ordinary criminal defendant by bleating the same nonsense put forward by this administration on any number of other occasions: Bush did it.

Brennan would not answer the question of whether the administration's policy is sound; no, he pointed out that the actions taken by this administration resemble the actions taken by the previous administration.

This type of avoidance, coming from the current administration's counterterrorism chief, is sickening.

@Babinch RE: some more comedy from the administration in place..

Hey genius, can you tell me how many prosecutions via military tribunal there have been since their use was announced more than 7 years ago by the Bush administration?

When you're done doing your homework on that, tell me what the outcomes were of the prosecutions and why.

Extra credit: how many convicted international terrorists are imprisoned, right now, in domestic federal facilities?
